Introducing ….. Brad
2016 is full of exciting things so far. I have loved being Steel City Mom. It has opened my eyes and heart to so many wonderful things, but I feel like the Dads are being left out. They are parents who love their children and have a lot to say. Why can’t they have a place to voice their opinions? That is why I have started (drum roll please)………. Steel City Dad! Steel City Dad is a place for all things DAD. If you are a dad, granddad, stepdad or just a male who is a father figure this is the place for you. Each week we will feature a article from a Pittsburgh Dad. If you would like to submit an article please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Buckle your seatbelts!
Now that is out of the way lets get down to it. Who is Brad? Brad is a gift from God. He is the son-in-law of my pastor who is very talented and funny. He is a 35 years old who was born in Pittsburgh. He originally worked in advertising. Brad decided to go back to school to pursue his true passion which is becoming a English teacher. He was a substitute for a little while which he absolutely hated. He and is wife tried a long time to have a child. It took roughly 14 months to conceive, which was very taxes on them both. When their son Oliver was born a decision had to be made. Do they put him in daycare only to barely make enough to cover it or do one of them stay home? The choice was easy, and Brad jumped at the opportunity. His wife has a good job downtown and can support the family so why not be a Stay At Home Dad (SAHD).
While trying to conceive, Brad came up with a great idea. He started a blog (http://www.babywatchblog.com/) to chronicle the journey to become and being parents. He is so very talented and hilarious. I am so honored to have him join the team.
